Strategies from Grade School

There are so many strategies to improve self management that are incredibly simple. In fact, most strategies we learned in grade school.

Next time you’re in a difficult situation, try a few of these timeless tips so you stay flexible and direct your behavior positively;

  1. Take a deep breath

    • Deep breaths helps to lower cortisol levels, ease anxiety and depression, and improve memory.

  2. Count to ten

    • This allows your brain time to cool down and process before you take any action.

  3. Smile and laugh more

    • You don’t have to treat every single problem as a crisis—when you approach things from a place of joy, things will feel easier to handle.

  4. Give it a beat

    • When you have time to digest, you’ll be able to find clarity and perspective.

  5. Get a good night’s sleep

    • When we don’t get enough sleep, we start losing our ability to stay alert, to be patient, and to remain flexible.
