Embrace Imperfection

Eliminating perfectionism can improve mental health and increase both creativity and productivity.

Here’s how to do it;

  • Practice self-compassion and acknowledge that it's okay to make mistakes

  • Set realistic goals and expectations for yourself

  • Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with positive affirmations

  • Focus on the process, not just the end result

  • Embrace imperfection and learn to let go of the need for everything to be perfect.

Question: In what ways have you been hyper-focused on the end result of a current project? How can you focus on the process instead?

Action: That stuff I said up there is hardβ€” create a support network of friends, family, and professionals. Ask for accountability with self compassion or embracing imperfection.

"Perfectionism is a disease of a nation. We are the healers of the world, and therefore it is our job and our responsibility to cultivate self-love and self-acceptance." - Yung Pueblo

"Perfectionism doesn't make you feel perfect; it makes you feel inadequate." - Maria Shriver
