Self Care Languages
The 5 Love Languages (words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch) give us awareness and permission to give and receive love differently.
This rings true for self care. We are all lovely, unique humans, which means that self care looks different for each of us. Read on to understand how the 5 love languages can be used for self care;
Physical Touch - Things that make your body feel good and focus on your physical wellbeing
massages, body movement, spa day, skin care, long showers, snuggling on the couch with a loved one (pets included)
Acts of Service - Doing things for yourself that make life easier for you
therapy, cleaning, organizing, scheduling, writing in your planner, delegating tasks
Receiving Gifts - Buying gifts for yourself or spending money on things that bring you joy
going out, taking a vacation, buying things for yourself (hobby supplies, makeup, clothes), treating yourself
Quality Time - Spending time along and doing things you love
meditation, reading, relaxing, going out alone, spending time doing something you love
Words of Affirmation - Giving yourself encouraging words and appreciation
positive self talk, daily affirmations, journaling, self-improvement
