Empowering Questions
Questions are not only a gateway to learn about other people and topics— they are vital to understanding ourselves. When we ask empowering questions, we are more likely to have empowering answers.
Below are a few questions to ask yourself each day that build awareness and help you to incorporate empowering beliefs;
What am I thinking? - Most of us don’t take the time to observe what we’re thinking, which is scary considering we have 60,000+ thoughts a day. The answer to this question will tell you not only how you’re feeling, but it will also tell you why you’re inspired to take action or not take action.
Why am I choosing to think this? - What this question does is gives you back responsibility for what you’re thinking. It’s a reminder that our thoughts are choices and we are empowered to choose different ones at any time.
How does this thought feel? - If a thought doesn’t feel great, it may be worthwhile to stop thinking it. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we avoid negative feelings, but we often have thoughts about ourselves or others that get in the way of us being the best version of ourselves. Remember that those thoughts are choices and we can change them if the feeling isn’t serving us.
